Cumberland striper trip 5/12

Taking a trip to cumberland this weekend going to fish friday and saturday night. Putting in at wolf creek and wanting to fish wolf and caney at night for stripers was wondering if anyone has been doing good on stripers at night. I went two weeks ago and caught two near alligator 1. but was wanting to venture a little farther. Any reports apperciated. Will report back sunday. Thanks

Will be a full moon. I have found the full moon in May to be tough fishing for stripers(not sure if its due to the false spawning run they make or what). Should be able to boat some walleyes though.

I went Friday night and quit fishing about 2:00. Did not hear the shad like the weekend before and no blowups. I got frustrated with the amount of logs and stuff in the water. The water level keeps climbing and trees were in the water making it difficult to cast. I was fishing in Wolfe Creek and was working towards the main lake but turn around with the log jam near the mouth of the creek. Did not catch anything except a few tree limbs. I hope others had better luck.

The weekend before I fished about halfway between Alg.II and the mouth of Wolfe Creek and caught one small striper on a redfin and 1 22" walleye.

thanks guys that is kinda what i was thinking too they are hard when the moon is full. i guess ill have to watch out for the trees floating!! good luck and thanks for the info!! ill let you know how we do

I fished Friday night May 5 in Guffey creek. The shad were on the banks as soon as it got dark and stayed until about 3 am. Heard about 10 or 12 blow ups. If you go there try it all the way in the back of the creek. That is where they were last weekend. Just my 2 cents worth.

Guffey creek that is a little far fo me to travel with all the debries in the water. i like to fish up near the dam just not this time of year. thanks for the info though much appreciated!!!

fished friday night and saturday night both nights got skunked! no fish had a few hits otherthan that it was a hard night the lake has cleared up some fished in caney creek found a bank with plenty of shad and heard about 20-30 blow ups but no fish. hope all had better luck.
