    Chatter Baits

Just checking to see if anyone has caught any fish on the ole chatter bait. After about 4 weeks of waiting mine finally came in last week and here are the results

Farm Pond - 3 fish all about 8 inches

Lake Malone - 4 casts and lost it even though it is supposed to be weedless

Barren River Lake last night - 10 pounder...snapping turtle (had to cut the line).

I hope you all have had better luck than I have with it.

On the way back from Malone on Saturday I stopped in a little tackle store in Quality and they had a Gambler knock off for the same price - I bought one - looks like better quality and they have more colors.

    RE: Chatter Baits

Was on Rough river this past weekend and used everything including the kitchen sink. The only thing I caught fish on was a chatter bait. 10 fish one over 4 pounds. I rig it with a rattle and a fluke and crank and pump it in.

I had not caught anything on it using the trailer that radd sends with it. Put the fluke and a rattle on and it was game on.

I agree about the hole that is left in fish. I have had more than one turn directions or jump and throw the hook. I think it would perform better if it were a lighter wire hook with a larger barb.

If you are going to use a fluke rig it like a grub. If you run it though the head and then back through the bottom it takes up too much room and you will not get a good hook set. If you just run it through the head and out the back you will get better action out of the tail and better hook up ratio.

    I'M HOOKED!!!!

I picked mine up at Uncle Lee's a week or so ago, and loved them. I was there picking some up for a friend, and ended up giving a short siminar on them. I should have made some type of deal with the sales guy that asked me to explain them to the other customers, because I sold an additional 12 of them for the store!!! I know it's not much, but I only had three customers at my "seminar" LMAO One bought 6, one 4, and the other guy got 2.

Maybe that could be my next career????????

    LOL

    Fish Hunter

These baits are not a fix all, and they won't work in ever situation, or at least I don't think so. I am fishing them just under the surface, over vegetation. I also fished them around flooded brush in creek channels.

So I guess I would say I fish them as a shallow crankbait or a spinnerbait. I personally don't think they will work very well in deep situations, but shallow they do seem to work great.

    All who want these baits....

OK guys, if you want them, I'll get them for you.

Send me an email, and I'll send you my mailing address. You need to send me a money order, not a check, for the number you want, and be sure to include extra for shipping, not enough for shipping and I will keep the baits...LOL

They are $5.99 plus tax, that means 6.23 a piece, plus shipping. Currently they have two sizes, 1/4 oz and 3/8 oz. They did have 6 colors, but I think they only have 4 left. They have white and chartruese, translucent with a blue glimmer, chartruese (if still in stock), black and blue (if still in stock), brown, and a green pumpkin.

If you all want to throw a little extra in for this unemployeed guy who is spending his gas, which is much more valuable than his time apparently...LMAO... go for it...LOL

    Let me know guys.

    RE: Chatter Baits

I have caught several fish on them. The only problem I have with them is the hole they leave in the fish's mouth makes it easy for them to throw. Next fish you catch on one, look at the size of the hole when you take the hook out.

Cedar Creek Lake Outfitters has them on Cedar Creek. Call if you want them sent or stop by while fishing the lake. These are the folks who provide the report on the lake.

    RE: Chatter Baits

I fished a tourny two weeks ago at Nolin. We used a chatterbait and won the tourny. We had 14.06 the first day. Biggest fish was 4.08. Just threw it like a crankbait. Yeah I think they work.
