4 people were ticketed in Captains Quarters. There was a tournament going on and 2 boats were stopped. The boater and partner were ticketed by police. The officer said they are to issue tickets to fishermen in Captains Quarters. No warnings. This place is being watched by officers in uniform but unmarked cars. Pass this message along. Heard fine is over $200.00 OUCH!!

YES and they are strictly enforcing it. Sign has been there for years, but this year police are out there watching.
Amazing to me, that with all the crime and drugs in the Louisville area that the Police have time to "stake out" this area in hopes of catching such as harsh criminal as us fisherman. Not to mention fisherman who are NOT commiting any crime. There is NO law, I repeat NO law in the KRS book that effectively makes fishing in marinas a crime, Even dug out marinas. This rule is being inforced because certain owners have money and influence. Mostly because we sportsman role over and take it. The only way our rights will be restored is if everyone call there State Reps. I am also disappointed in the State fishing organizations, Like the KBF and others,
They have never done anything to protest these type of injustices. I think our law enforcement would be much better used as well as our tax dollars fighting REAL crime. And out Wildlife officers Looking for true violations of our wildlife resourses.

What tourney was it and do you know who it was that received the ticket.I bet it will get throwed out of court.Others that received tickets in there went to court but it was thrown out by the judge.Guys that fish on sat morning got a ticket in there but it was thrown out of court.I have not heard of anyone actually having to pay of fine, has anyone else?
I posted on this subject last year and again this year. The boat owners at Captains Quarters won the battle to post their marina. This was a long fought battle that went to the stae supreme court. They were able to win due to the marina being mad made and has no feeder creek running through it. Last year fish and wildlife officers responded when called by the boat owners. Due to fish and wildlife not being able to always get there fast enough to write tickets the boat ownwers now hire off duty police officers to patrol the marina on the weekends. I am a person that fishes the river several times a week and hated to see this happen. My info came from the fish and wildlife officer who patrols that area. Hope this helps..
NOT THIS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! The CQ is private, created by private money, and maintained by private money. It may require a permit with the Federal or State Goverment, that I do not know either way, I for one do not care, does not matter. It is or at least it was posted about the fishing so DO NOT FISH THERE and you can not cry about getting a ticket. If the only place you can fish one the Ohio River is CQ then you need to stay home. If we spent half as much effort learning to fish, helping kids learn to fish and sending lureS and photos to kids that could use the lift and stop whining about "We can't fish this spot" everything may be a little better for everyone.
Do you know if the people ticketed were DQ from the tournament? This is not much different than the guys caught cheating on Barkley a couple of weeksago. My 2 cents...

Rodney, I don’t exactly agree. What’s the real difference of stringed up fish and fishing an area that is off limits? Both is legal, stringed up fish are ‘captive’ fish for the ‘thief’ to win the tournament. Fishing off limits is kind of like ‘captive’ fish that no one else legally can fish the area. So you could be stocking an off limits location to win tournament. To me it’s the same thing just the size of the stringer is different.
Actually his reasoning is not that mind boggling, in both cases the anglers were trying to win a tournament by using an illegal activity and should be DQ'ed
In some events it is in the rules that if you recieve a citation during the event you are automaticly DQ'ed .
