I was wondering what kind of flipping sticks people prefer. I just bought a 7'6 rod heavy action and I was wondering if that is a good one. Anybody else have an opinion on what to use?

LAST EDITED ON May-26-06 AT 07:39PM (EST)[p]I usually post on the Tennessee board. I bought a Team Diawa Light and Tough Flipping Stick and fell so much in love with it that I bought another one. Both of mine are heavy action but you do have to set the hook a little bit harder with them because the tip allows you to pitch a 1/4 ounce weight. They are very sensitive and will whip a big fish in no time. I have not had one full off yet with this rod. If these rods were to break today I'd go buy another one tomorrow.
My favorite outfit is a 7'6" H&H medium heavy with a Shimano Chronarch 100 series. Before I bought this setup, my pitching skills were not very good. Now I feel like Denny Brauer out there sometimes.
I second the opinion on the Daiwa LT flippin sticks. Best bang for the buck there is in off the shelf rods like that.
I third the motion about the Diawa L&T series.I love mine andfor around $120 you cant beat them.
I need a new flippen rod, If you guys would look and see if the model # is LT-74T-5FB, thanks
sorry I am talking about the Diawa #LT-74T-5FB
You want the one rated down to a 1/4oz lure. Far as I know, they're only making one flippin' stik in the LT rods and that should be it.
