I would talk to the staff they usually know the hot lakes. I like the Gulp twister tails and if you are going to fish for Lake Trout.. I used a glow in the dark jig head to jig for them in 60 to 80 feet of water. IF you can find them schooled just drop it down and bring it up in short bursts. They will follow the gulp for 30 to 40 feet almost to the surface. Water below 30 is fairly dark.. that is why the glow in the dark jighead.. then they look and smell the gulp and will not let it go.
I use them for smallies and walleye too.
I LOVE to use inline bucktail spinners for pike and muskie, but not any muskie there I dont think.
Rapala DT10 and DT6 are good as well. Smallies will hit those as well as the pike. Regular Shad Raps will catch walleye. The inland lakes are best. The lake around the lodge is slow, unless you know the spots.
Regular twister tails with Carolina Lunker Sauce work almost as well for the Lakers and as well for smallies. Surface poppers will work occasionally and are fun. REMEMBER take a Back Pack to carry tackle in. Easier than lugging a tackle box. 2 or 3 piece rod maybe if you want.. OR just a good Ugly stick.. cause you dont want to walk 2 hours to fish then break a rod. Carry an extra reel and some spools too.

i went there a couple years ago,we walked to alot of the lakes.
had many good largemouth on spinners and buzzbaits as well as pike.jigheads with nightcrawlers worked for walleye, they got some good ones.beaverhuts = fish when we were there, was the end of july some grass and pads were coming up too, they said that was their spawning time so it may be a little cold for buzzers but a jighead and grub was good too.there was one called burnt house or something like that that was a looooong walk but worth it,not many had been there when we went and i dont think they knew what lures were.

I want to make that trip and talk to the guide.. I think you can get some better results with Lakers if you sit over them and use the jigging method I suggested.. but hey he is the guide.
