Going to Myrtle Beach area for vacation in July. Never been deep sea fishing and would like to charter a boat and give it a try. Does anyone know any charter fishing services that are good and reputable? Thanks...
Tim

which is me. If you dont find a charter let me know and I will do the research for you.
Fished with Captain Rex last July out of North Myrtle. His Boat is called the Remedy. Very nice outfit. Bottom fishing about 45 miles offshore. He had us on fish from the get go. Group of 5 had limits of red snapper and sea bass, and one nice cobia. This is a private charter, and the cost was around $750.00. I'm sure the price has changed with the cost of fuel. I will be there in late July and early August, and will be using Capt. Rex's Remedy again myself. Hope this helps.
About 3 years ago we were down there in August and fished with the new double R out of the little river it was a private charter also and that time of year we fished for sharks they were very freindly, will use them again give em a try.
Every, and I do mean, every charter boat I've ever been on for ocean fishing or gulf fishing has been a complete and utter ripoff. You pay twice as much as you would for a bass guide, catch about 1/2 as many fish, and the fish you DO end up catching are caught on tackle so heavy that it's no fight. Save you cash and hire a bass guide.
This is purely my opinion. Maybe I've just been unlucky.
