A boater can definitely block a co-angler when fishing ledges. Boat position is key and the whole "imaginary line" courtesy BS can come into play. Co-angler success usually depends on the boater's attitude. I've fished with some great boaters, usually former co-anglers, and I've fished with some complete jerks. Usually the complete jerks do not do very well because they think they know it all.......and that is their downfall! As competitors in this sport, it is so vital to always be open to new strategies, be able to learn from others, practice good sportsmanship, and uphold high standards as professionals. Those who do not practice these ideals shall not expect to progress as a good fisherman.

Fishing as a co-angler is all about learning. I've watched boaters make mistakes and have seen holes in their strategies time and time again. I've learned more from boaters' mistakes than I have their success. You can't expect to win much being a co-angler and the frustrating days come more frequent than the good days. However, I consider it as "paying my dues" and with the experience and knowledge I've gained, you just wait until I become a boater after college graduation!!!! :)
