I use Matsu size 3 for worm fishing and size 4 for the zoom supe flukes. Which is very effective bait in shallow areas.
An old (and respected) fisherman who was teaching me to catch hybreds on T-ville said to me "you gotta get you some of them kamakazi hooks". That's all I use.
I used to only use gamakatsu, but then bought a bunch of owner hooks on clearance. Amazing, in my opinion. I love the EWG Owners, but I do keep gamakatsu on hand as well. Those are really the only two I use, unless I happen to pick up a specialty hook for some specific application.

Ditto the Gamas. But I pronounce it "Grandma-got-you", cause they stick ya with little provication, and then grip tenatiously until your landed, skinned, and fired.
Course, my grandma rode a Harley and did Tequilla slammers too!
I use MUSTAD hooks for most all my softplastics, and the best hooks for any hard bait in my humble opinion. I use Slider Hooks for my finesse fishing. I only use a very few other hooks for certain softplastics that I can't find in Mustad.
I know everyone has a preferance; I just have had the best luck/less broken or bent hooks etc. with Mustad.
Good luck fishin' with what ever hook you use!
