My father has a 2nd home in New Concord, situated about halfway between Blood River and Paris Landing. 20-25 minutes from Dover on South Barkley. 20 minutes from Paris and Murray for shopping, hospitals, etc. Alot less traffic and more secluded than the north end of the lake. But if you plan on fishing tournaments there, most are held on the north end of KY and Barkley - so I would stay north. If not, and you're looking for privacy & quiet, you may want to explore the south end of the lakes. Buchanan and the Big Sandy are also nice areas.
