I was only guessing at what "effects" were being referred to .... I really don't know, nor have I experienced that effect, either. But then, I've only used the "regular" type of blacklights.
Maybe you haven't either, because you ARE using 2 of them ... and the cross coverage/overlapping area of the lights, is keeping the "strobing" effect from happening.
Even so, and with only one of those lights on, it would seem to me that you would only experience the strobing effect, if you were fishing right over top of the light. I could be wrong ... but, it would seem to be the only way that a "dead spot" would affect the fluorescing of the line. (if that is what is occuring, and what "Spotboy" was referring to) He did say something about moving the rod side to side (I assume thru the light of the unit) ... so maybe he had his rod close to the unit (where the V of the light output is smallest) ?? ..... cp
