game warden was out saturday .... of course no one drives dumb then...
I visited Guist Creek Lake for the first time today. As I put in there is a big fish and wildlife sign with one of the rules being "No wake when passing a boat fishing". It's clearly marked at the ramp when you put in. That said I got beat to heck by wakes today. I have a 19 1/2 foot fish and ski which has taller sides than a standard bass boat, as I was trolling towards the junction near the ramp a bass boat coming out of the no wake laid on their huge motor swung around me and took off. The following wakes came over the sides of my boat and completely soak everything inside!!! There is no reason for what the jerk did in a regular lake but to do that on a small lake that has a no wake rule is inexcusable. The other boat giving me fits what was pleasure boater that was towing two people on a tube (One driver, no observer, and no mirror. I guess the laws don't apply to him.). He was just going back and forth around me creating wakes. I trolled far away up a creek to get away from him. Well about an hour later here comes the pleasure boater full bore creating a huge wake as he passed several boats that were clearly fishing. He pulled into a little cove up the creek. It looks like he lives on the lake. He must think it is his private lake.
yep.. that happens there.. I fish there at least three days a week, and I'll tell ya another thing, the boats on that lake have the fastest idle out of any boats ive been on... and I dont think ive EVER had a boat slow down when we were fishing a bank, anchored or not... I dont get it.
