Welcome to the board roadrunner and Spaz

    Hey Guys,

    Welcome to the board too!!

Nice to see more western KY guys joining. We've been in the minority here by a lot!!!

Maybe in a few more years our population will have grown enough that we can win the vote on the yearly get together and actually have it on one of our big lakes.... ky or barkley.

    LOL

    RE: New to board

I appreciate the offer Danny. I hae lived down here for about 2 years now and still don't know the waters real well. I have a smaller bass boat (17.5 ft norris craft/ 150 merc) that is ideal for malone but can get a little scary on barkley when the wind is blowing.

Good luck on getting your trailer fixed. Look me up anytime you need a partner. I need to learn as much as possible and fishing with others is the only way to do that.

    RE: New to board

Hey, my stratos was only 17 feet and 9 inches. I was only ever run of the big lakes when the wind was 25 mph or greater. Worst was when the wind was not forcast but came up during the day!! I got stranded about 20 miles from the launch with 5 and 6 feet rollers. That's scary even in a 21 footer.

Good luck, and just be safe.

    RE: New to board

Yeah that happened to me the weekend of the Bassmaster on Barkley. That Sunday I fished a little company T out of Devil's elbow and the wind and rain got up. I tried to make the run from Canton back to the old Devil's Elbow ramp and ended up breaking the foot pedal on my trolling motor. Won't make that mistake again.

    RE: New to board

Malone is a tough lake to figure out. I fished the tues. nighter and came in fifth this past tues. It's a one fish limit tourney and we had one weighing 2.65. The guys that won it had 4.19, which isn't huge but it pays. I've heard it's usually been taking 6-7 lbs to win the tourney but I haven't seen any fish that size.

I catch plenty of fish they're all just short. Everything that I have caught have primarily come on a senko right against the bank on cover. Also caught a few on chatterbaits but that was late in the evening right before dark. I wish I could help you more but heck, I haven't quite figured it out myself.

    RE: New to board

LAST EDITED ON Jul-01-06 AT 05:58PM (EST)[p]I'm kinda new to the board as well... But have already poste a few times and asked for help and got very good information from the members of this board. My hats off to the organizer's and who ever else help make this board happen. I've never fished past Nolin to the west in Ky or Yatesville to the east and Green to the south. I'm originally from Indiana ( God's Country ) you know... I have fished up there for 20 something years now, but getting to know the waters in Ky. very slowly. I've noticed that very few lakes or impoundments of water here in Ky have grass, seems like every lake in Indiana has tons of grassin them, but hardly none in Ky so far that I've noticed. nothing beats *** RAT *** fishing over grass bed flats...

Ok, I've held anyone up long enough reading my gibber jabber and will go for now, again thanks again for letting me sign up and belong to this board.
