There's a nice campground on Elkhorn where it goes into the KY river, just drive down hwy 127 toward Owenton about 10 miles give or take a few, north of Frankfort. Just past the bridge going over elkhorn you'll see the sign for the campground to you left. You can walk the bank a long way and there's alot of fish of all kinds in that stretch.
