I told my son that I would take him fishing this week.We are going one trip to Dale Hollow(from 4:00am-9 or 10) and one trip to Barren in the evening for Hybrids. We will be using live bait on both trips. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
Please???
Good luck! Hook 'em in the face.
I don't hybrid fish enough to be of much help, but call Gary at Ranger Bob's for some advice at 270-622-6160. Also there's a guy by the name of Jesse Duncan who guides for hybrids on Barren. I've heard he's a pretty nice guy, you might try getting hold of him.
I fish barren all the time for hybrids. Do not use live bait. Use crankbaits. A Bomber Fat Free Shad (6-8ft. diving depth). Troll along the rock walls. If you can tell me where you are launching your boat from I can direct to some good places.
We went yesterday(tuesday)and didn't do much Hybrid fishing.Bass fished mostly, and we had pretty good luck, catching 12 Largemouth with 8 keepers. We are planning to go back tommorrow and maybe try a little more for Hybrids. We're putting out at the Narrows and we fished mostly straight through the cut on the island.Seen several boats fishing(trolling)for them there,is that a good spot? BY the way caught the bass on senkos. Thanks
Hey HogDaddy. I always launch from Penisula. The first place I usually go is back around to the parking lot of Penisula. There is a point, (that is very shallow, so swing out wide to get around) that is out on the left from Penisula after you get past the boat houses. You will see the parking lot lights. I go to the end of that rock wall and fish back up to the point. Biggest I caught there this year was 11.5 and the smallest was 6.3 So it has produced some real good fish for me. After i've fished that out i go towards the dam. This is called Sailboat bay.Caught some quality hybrids there. ANd then head to Baileys Point. All 3 places have been very good to me. Good luck!
