July 4th wekend

Although the 4th fall on a Tuesday this will probably be a big weekend on the lakes. Everyone be a little more careful and considerate and have a great holiday.

i second that steve also if ur goin to the fireworks on lake herrington there tonight july 1st i reckon theyll be alot of boats i myself have never been but have decided to see how it is heard that u could walk aross the water, so many boats and yeawhos.. i know it will be along time before u get outta there so i think im just gonna make my way down a lil and fish till i get tired and the traffic clears. After its all over so to all who go there be safe to.

Nicely put and I second the motion. I had to work, I think that's all I do anymore. Might do some night fishing at a hundred acre lake near the house tonight. Lot's a shad been coming to the banks at dusk, gotta be one them ole green fish following.

I grew up on Herrington and the fireworks at Chimney Rock are pretty neat but like you said the boat traffic is unbelievable. Have fun and enjoy but be careful. I'd say that KDFW and local lae enforcement will be all over the place.

I give the boat an extensive cleaning on holiday weekends. I have had too many near misses(even at night) to even consider boat fishing. My daughters and I will bank fish a local pond for some gills this weekend.
