    Food for thought

Here's something else that might make you alittle angry. I know it did me! I know for a fact that Kentucky Dam Village State Park, comped (free stuff) over $31,000 to ESPN. From free rooms, free use of activity building, free catered meals and many more stuff. Frankfort also kicked in some money to have them down here. How much, I'm not sure? All in exchange for "free" advertisement on ESPN. I don't believe I ever seen mention of Ky. Dam State Park or the parks system at all. Without knowing that, I was still disappointed in the show!

    RE: Food for thought

Any time that BASS (and I imagine FLW to an extent) chooses a site for a tx, it's because that particular area coughs up a lot of green to get it there. No green, no tx. The chamber of commerce here in Henry Co. Tn, and Stewart Co. TN just got together and dropped $15K to the ABA to get their year-end championship tourney to run out of Paris Landing. They're talking about 600+ boats. If that's true I want to see all 600 setting in the State Park Marina. They'll have to piggy-back them 5 deep. Will run 6 days from Sep 30 to Oct 5 I believe.

    RE: Tennis?

I agree with the comment on Ray Scott showing them how to promote fishing. Maybe someone should petition for him to take BASS over if it come up for sale. If not Ray, then maybe Bentz, Wood, or BPS? Just a thought.

    RE: Food for thought

All the big tournaments get courted with monies, comped rooms, food etc to come into an area. Tournament sites are not based on "good fishing" they are based on who is willing to give up the most to get it there...but...something like 31,000 is nothing compared to the return that the community gets from having the big tournaments in town from all the monies spent by the anglers and those that come to see them. All those sales also generate state tax monies.
