    swimming the paca craw

Try fast swimming the paca craw to the point of almost waking the surface. Rig it so you won't get roll over and when them pincher legs get to kickin look out. Try it you might get pleasantly surprised. Had'em bustin it like that the other evening late before dark, one of them deals you figure out by accident, but paid off.

I can see that catching fish for sure. How did you have it rigged? Somthing else to try is top water swimming that Mann's Hardnose worm with no weight. It has a great tail for it!

Texas rigged with EWG hook and 1/8 oz slip. Texposed the hook and got good hook sets.

    RE: Mann's Hardnose worm

I believe this was Ike's follow up technique he used to win his classic down in FL or New Orleans....I can't remember....getting old. I remember him using it in shallow water 5'-10'. Maybe that was his search bait....I could be a knock on the head away from a mumbling idiot.

Not sure about IKE. I thought he was a Berkley man when it comes to soft plastics. I think Luke Clausen used the hardnose worm to win The Classic at Toho. Junebug if I'm not mistaken. I really like the hardnose worm. It's got a big tail that will move more water than a ribbon tail... I'm horrible about basic life details, people's names, etc. When it comes to fishing details though, I'm a steel trap! It's like, "Hey, remember that 6.2 I caught last year on May 6. The one that slammed my white 3/8 oz. buzzbait by that log at around 8:26 AM? That 73 degree air temp, incoming front and 9MPH SW wind had to play a part!"

I use it by itself(the chunk) on a football head.

I've used them weightless over grass. When the pinchers get to going they slap the water...worked better then a large lizard my partner was using. Rig it with an EWG hook of your size choise. They are great topwater baits.
