Willisburg Lake

Has anyone had any luck on this lake? I fished Thur from 730 to 11 and only caught two small bass. I heard it is good in the early spring and late fall.

I fished it a few times.It had grass in it then and we did well for numbers but nothing over 2lb.It looked like it should be a good lake as far as fishy looking but i havn't been there in a few years.we used splitshot rigs with 4 inch worms and small cranks.

Fished Friday night and caught a fish or two....it wasn't on fire, but we had a bite. I fished topwater until just after dark and couldn't get anything going. Messed around with a fish or two on big Culprit worms after dark, but nothing very large.

My buddy caught a nice one on a jerkbait before dark:

Not a abd bass at all. My buddy threw a devils horse for about 1 1/2 hours with no luck at all. I threw a chatterbait and a crankbait until dark with only two small fish about 8 inches to show for it. After dark tried a paca craw with only a couple hits but no luck. I should of thrown a shadrap with all the minnow activity in the lake and the grass but I wasn't using my head LOL.

I hadn't been on that lake in over 10 years, but I liked it quite a bit. The shoreline grass in some areas looked like it would be awesome for a bluegill bite when the time is right. I'll go back down there.

I think that lake has been overrun by green sunfish and there aren't many nice bluegill or redear to be had.

Fished there about three weeks ago and had a ball. I had 6 fish over 3lbs. Talked to one guy said he had over 19lbs in 4 fish with the biggest being 5.11.

The lake humbled me a bit im my fish catching abilities. I will have to give her another try it sounds like.
