    Anybody fish Guist Creek lately???

Thinking of hitting it this afternoon, and was wondering if the day bite was still worth it or has it gone to night only. Could use a report if anybody has one. Also is there any water in the lake, last few times I went last year you could barely launch a boat, you gotta love that ramp up there.

I fish there a few days a week and manage 10lb averages during the early morning... The night bite is on, but they will still bite during the day on brush-hogs and Jigs. The lake has been pressured pretty hard, even during the ealry morning latley. We went a few nights last week and were the only ones fishing, by 9:00 there were 10-15 other boats.. and the water levels are great now with a average temp of about 81-83 degrees.. Good luck

RE: Anybody fish Guist Creek lately???

Was there Thurs night fishing for hybrids and had good luck. However, was there Sat. evening and Sun morning fishing for hybrids. Marked a lot on the fishfinder, but just couldn't tempt them to bite. Was fishing near the dam.

The boat traffic was crazy in that area on Sat and Sunday. I was constantly bobbing up and down with the wake of fishing boats and personal watercraft that came zooming through there without even a thought of slowing down. Isn't the rule that you are supposed to slow down when passing someone fishing in a boat? Or have I misunderstood that? If that's not the case then I have been WAY too polite in my own boating out there and will start operating my boat wide-open at all times. Just kidding, but am curious - I'm also curious what effect, if any, the constant wakes and waves has on the fishing.

The hybrids certainly didn't seem to be on the jumps like they were Thursday night when the water was a lot calmer from less boat traffic.

The rule on Guist is you must slow down for a fishing boat unless you are in the ski area. Since you said you were near the dam that means you were in the ski area and unfortunately you have to just grin and bare it there. Thanks for the info was you catching those hybrids on topwater?

the bait working at night right now in our boat is jigs, and chatterbaits... plastic worm catching a few too, but most have been on small jigs and big flailing trailers.. also from what ive seen the hybrids really go crazy around 6:00am. I dont know what to catch them on, because I dont fish for them.
