Tournament Rules:
1. All contestants must fish boat docks or at minimum no further than 150 feet away from marina's.
2. Cutting in on other fishermen's water is encouraged with bonus points awarded for creative interference.
3. All fishermen must fish from 21 foot boats with 225 or higher horse-power, all boats and tow vehicles must be financed for at least 5 years. Proof of debt required, with bonus points given for financing of more than 10 years.
4. 15 inch size minimum, except for spots, which will be 12 inches. A bass will be determined to be a spot upon the contstant's sworn statement that "it felt like he had a patch on his tounge to me". If a fish does not measure on the weigh-master's board, the contestant may re-measure on his own board, regardless of its bent and beaten condition. If a fish is still short under this circumstance, the fish will be thrown into a cooler for the post tournament fish fry.
5. Any angler caught cheating will be either a)disqualified or b) given bonus points depending upon the complexity of the cheating angler's sheme. (i.e. Simply tying up a basket to a houseboat and loading it with fish will not be rewarded, however, a series of milk crates planted staregically and properly baited with a one way trap door might be handsomely rewarded, particularly if the traps are blue-printed and diagramed Wyle E. Coyote style.)
6. Launch will begin at sunrise and end at 11:00 as anglers are encouraged to hold up traffic by backing to the water before preparing their boat for launch. Launching proceedures will be strictly supervised by a team of Ohio pleasure boaters, and anyone caught taking less than 25 minutes per launch will have points taken away.
7. Contestants are required to ridicule any bank or float tube fisherman, or non-bass fishermen in general, on tournament waters.
8. In the event of a tie, the angler who complains the most and loudest will be determined as victor. An actual citation issued to a participant by KDFWR during tournament hours shall trump any amount of complaining. Altercation resulting in arrest shall also be favorably considered in the event of a tie.
Things seem kind of slow without any of the old fashioned threads to get everyone good and excited about so I figured I could wrap it up into one big post and have some fun with it. If I left out anything that sticks in peoples craw, feel free to amend the rules as they are subject to change without notice.
