It can go the other way----say the non-boater blanks, but the boater weighs a limit that is 17 lbs. Then no one elses combined weight can beat that-----you win the non-boater side and never caught a fish(actually, you could have not even brought along anything to fish with). Yes--crazy!!!! I finished in 8th place at Center Hill---I had 4 bass and my non-boater had 2. I came in 8th and won a little over $400---my non-boater came in 3rd, got a check for $500 and a nice plaque and it was his first ever "big" tournament he ever fished. He never practiced,never been to the lake and he lived about 50 miles from it. But, I had never been there either and spent 4 days pre-fishing and finished 8th and he got a 3rd. Doesn't make much sense does it?????

BASS has modified the shared weight rule. The co-angler must catch at least one fish in order to count the combined weight.
Hey I have fished both as a co-angler and angler. Nothing is more frustrating than to fish as a co-angler in April and May with a guy bed fishing. If you can count his weight from the back of the boat then you will gladly watch him catch all he can. ( BASS) . But it makes for a long day (BFL)if you sit pointed out in the middle watching butterflies mate............

LMAO----Danny! No, I don't work for ESPN or BASS. I wasn't aware of the "modified shared weight" rule---Thanks SpotBoy. At least that is a step in the right direction. I still don't like it, but it is what it is. Actually, the BASS weekend series was run great----even if this was their first year in the "weekend series" I just don't like that format and I am not real thrilled with the Bluegrass District being all over the state. I tried talking them into a "River circuit" and they only put two on the river and then two more on the other ends of the state. Now, had they split those tournaments into 2 divisions---maybe more would be interested. Who knows. I really feel that any circuits have there good and bad--there's no clear answer for someone to say which one is best for someone else. I think whichever one fits you best,with all things considered, then pick that one and fish your hardest and have fun.
