    RE: SAUGER AT MCALPINE

Are they still towing vehicles that park on the grass at Harrison ramp.
That was a HUGE issue a few years ago.

Also, if Harrison is full, how save/easy is it to use New Albany ramp, and get to the lower dam that way?

    Thanks,

    Geo

New Albany is very safe. Just unload where the yellow markers are. There's a rod located just under the water on the left of the ramp as you stand on the ramp and look at the river. Also be careful when running up thru the "shoots" upriver from the locks. It gets real shallow real quick there. Just take it slow.

    RE: SAUGER AT MCALPINE

I have always wanted to put my boat in at the Harrison Ave. ramp, but several people have told me not to put in there unless I've got somebody with me that knows the area. They said there are shallow rocky ledges that will rip your lower unit off! Can anyone give me a description on where to go or where not to go? Or,if someone that knows the area would like to go with me and show me I would really appreciate it! I would just like to fish the lower spillway and hydro, I'm not worried about going up into the falls.

    RE: SAUGER AT MCALPINE

There is good fishing at times at the Falls of the Ohio on the Indiana side of the river just below the upper dam. Most of what these guys are reffering to is fishing the lower dam which pretty much requires a boat these days. You used to be able to get in below the hydro on the lower dam from the KY side but if I heard right since they are working on the locks that is not accessible any more. But the falls can be an interesting place to fish from the bank.
