    Good luck down there!

The walleye in the Cumberland remain a mystery most of us. There are a few who have found a consistent bite, a few... I have not been very successful with the elusive fish but I'll pass along what I have learned.

Trolling a nightcrawler behind a spinner (crawler harness), on the 3 way rig with 1 to 1 1/2 ounce wt seems to be the trick. Keep the speed slow, under 2 mph. Can't help you with location but the Hot Spot map and some old posts might steer you to a starting place. They are after the same bait fish as the stripers so if you find the stripers (or the striper fishermen), the walleye should not be far.

Sorry I cant help more, let us know how you do. If you can find 'em, they'll be hungry!

    Thanks Birdstrike,
I want to try that 3 way. I'm assuming you use a 3 way swivel with the weight on an 18 to 20" leader on the bottom and an 18 to 20" leader off the side with a spinner worm rig. If I have any luck I'll definitely pass it on.

That's the right idea. I would use 3 to 5 feet of line from the 3 way to the bait. If you're painting fish near the bottom but they're not hitting the worm, some have luck with shad raps or light weight spoons. Do whatever it takes to get them near the bottom.

    Have fun! Steve
