Best cure I found is hitch up the boat and head to the lake. Terrible day on the lake fixes all, great day on the lake fixes all much better. FNF season for giant smallies just around the corner with great bucketmouth action between today and the FNF season. Had some of my best days for big fish the last couple of years from late November to Mid February. You may not get many bites but the ones you do get will be of good quality.

Well Dave, my first club tournament season is over now. I enjoyed the friendly competitive trash talk with the guys about who is gonna catch that and win this. No more until march. Yeah, I still fish through the year. But it doesn't excite me like a good tournament.

Nothing wrong with getting excited over fishing a tournament but you are missing the point of bass fishing if you have to fish a tournament to enjoy a great day on the lake.

Winter blues? shoot, now the fishing starts. I got to help my 9 year old daughter net her first smallie on C-land yesterday. It was a 5 pounder. Now she's ready for winter.

I wouldn't call fishing without the luxury of jet ski's and ocean liners the "blues". Wish it were January year round!!!!!

Time to kill a couple of deer until the water gets cold enough for the fnf.

Sounds like an ideal time to test new water or work on new techniques. You'll be better off come spring time if you take advantage of the opportunity.
