I can't really help you on that end of the lake, but I can tell you about the other end. I fish from Fall Creek to the mouth of Beaver. Last time out, I landed a 4.7 lb. smallie. I'm not a live bait man, so, do not know a thing about that, but this time of year, I do know a smallmouth will tear a black spinnerbait and a jig all to pieces. The only catch is, that, I fish at night. Usually from about 600 pm til 1 or 2 am. The secret is not to give up too early. The big smallies are there and ready to eat; just got to find them.
