When and where and what time?

Just got awsome news that Kevin Van Dam will be working with Ralph Stokley at his booth this year, what a treat for the Lexington crowd!!! From my understanding he will also be conducting seminars as well. See you there..
When and where and what time?
are they going to be having fishing seminars again, because for the past few years all of the fishing seminars had vanished in place for the lumberjack shows.
When is the boat show? I'd definitley pay to hear seminar from KVD. Heck I'd hangout at Rupp all day and see all of seminars.
the Rupp web site has it listed 2/2/06-2/5/06 but it doesn't tell the times, admission or the schedule of events.
Does anyone besides me remember when Hank Parker was there doing a seminar?Probably in the early to mid 80s.Cummon guys - Don't make me feel old .
Can't say that I remember Hank, but I sure do remember Billy Westmoreland. I enjoyed hanging around the booth listening to his stories, some of my favorites didn't have a thing to do with fishing. It was very refreshing that an ICON was as "down to earth" as the next man. Billy is sorely missed.
Yup-Hank was there , if I remember correctly ,shortly after he won his first classic .Not many people came to his seminar as he was a relative unknown at the time.I saw Billy W several times also .I stopped enjoying the show a few years ago .I may go back this year if the fisherman come back into focus a little bit .
Please give your feedback on the following... Spinnerbaitguy said, "I stopped enjoying the show a few years ago." I have very close ties with the boat show on an internal level and want to know what you think about it. Please be open and honest with your opinions. Why will you come to, or not come to, the boat show in 2006?
Obviously, several of you will come to see and meet KVD. What else will bring you down to Rupp for the show? What are you tired of seeing? What would you like to see? All opinions and ideas are welcome.
Thanks for your opinions and feedback!
IMO, I cant understand why boat dealers waste their time bringing those 35 ft bajas to mem. col. I mean honestly who is going to go to rupp in the dead of winter and buy a $150,000 boat. The thing that has frustrated me about the boat show in the last couple years is the lack of educational booths and tackle dealers. You bring an educational fishing seminar or two to this show and the fisherman will be there, and we usually tend to spend money, oh, lets say just about every time we go out. The same concept would apply to pleasure boaters if they needed an education about something boat concerning. If you bring a purpose to the show, then the tire kickers and boat droolers, would be replaced to some extent with serious consumers. I will be there at least once regardless, so I can drool on some boats ;) BUT, if I could catch a seminar and get put in the fishing mood, I would be more apt to purchase anything fishing related that was there. I know a lot of people here share the same opinion, good luck with the show.

I agree with some of the others...get rid of the Lumberjacks and get more Tackle Dealers and Boat Dealers.Heck, don't the people in charge check out the other shows and see what they're doing ? Go to the Louisville Boat/RV Show and see how successful it is.
As far as the Baja's and houseboats... well they ARE boats too,and people must be buying them. Heck, the price of the largest Tournament Bass boats aren't far from the same price of them.
I haven't been to the Lexington Boat Show in several years for lack of boat/tackle dealers. (heard it was to expensive to rent a spot) Seems like the last time I was there there were only 2 rooms of vendors to see.
They might look at refiguring their rental rates,as it might pay to have more vendors at a lesser rate.
I remember when Hank was there. I got some years on me but I'm not old LOL.
