    Keel Guard Coming Off

I installed a keel guard last year and it is starting to come off in the middle in a small area. Looks like the adhesive stayed on the boat and pulled away from the rubber part of the guard. Any ideas on how to fix this?

    RE: Keel Guard Coming Off

I'm having the same problem with mine, plan on contacting Bass Pro Shop, where I bought mine and see what they say. But if anyone else might know what I also might do in this situatuion let me know...I didn't think they were supposed to come off very easy.

Amazing. I too installed one last year from BPS and am having a problem with it beginning to come off. I chalked it up as my own fault and have been kicking myself, but this appears to be a widespread problem. I concidered using a two part epoxy, but am eager to hear some other opinions. Let me know of any ideas you may have, and let me know about your contacts with the mfg or BPS.

    Keep on chuckin'

You can find some very helpful people on the Bass Boat Central web site depending on what brand you have.

Contact made / Sent to Bass Pro Shops

Anyone interested I sent a letter to Bass Pro Shop concerning the seperation of the Keel guard from my boat and the Keel guard itself. After paying almost $130.00 for this to protect my boat I don't need it to start coming off in less than 1 year. will keep you posted on the info I receive on this matter...

My buddy put a bead of 3M 4200 down the center of the loose piece and supported it with a 2X4 and a bottle jack. Once it cured, it never was a problem again.
