I hear Easy13 is THE MAN at Linville. Where are you these days, Easy?

I'm considering trying this lake for the first time, never been there before. Questions are, how big is it, what are the depths to be expected. Where in Rockcastle county is it? What kinda bite should I expect? Thanks for any and all advice, just want to try something new down that way.

Linville is right beside the interstate. You can't miss it. The fishing is ok. Usually short fish. I did manage to catch one 5lbs out of there this spring. It's a smaller lake but the fishing isn't bad.
Thanks guys, sounds a little slow maybe I'll try somewhere else new instead.
You'd probably be happier somewhere else. We used to do really well there. A few years ago it was nothing for us to get 20+ pounds out of our best five just about every time we went in the summer at night. We haven't been able to do much down there the last year or so; we do much better at Laurel now.
Linville gets a lot of pressure for a small lake. There's a road that circles probably 2/3 of the lake, too, so there's bank fisherman everywhere. It's hard to fish a Friday or Saturday night for them. I'm sure a lot of them keep what they catch, too.
If you still want to go, take exit 62 off I-75. Turn like you're going to Renfro Valley Barn Dance. Where you'd turn right to enter Renfro Valley, turn left to get to the lake.
wishicouldfish, who posts here, could probably give you as good a report as anybody. I think he fishes a couple of tournaments a week there.
