I did see it this weekend. What lake were they fishing on again? It showed the lake name briefly at the start of the segment and I can't remember it.
I'd love to spend some time talking to the KDFWR about Cedar Creek. I think it's come along fine, but there are definitely some questions to ask - gizzard shad, non-stocked species, where are the bluegill, why are the crappies so small, etc. There also do not seem to be as many small/tiny bass anymore.
I did catch my two fish at Cedar Creek. One from my kayak and one from a boat. I was mainly fishing crappie and just threw a small topwater bait both times and got lucky. The one I actually measured was 18.5" and the other seemed just a bit bigger, but fairly similar. I had one other one on out of my kayak that I never got a good look at, but seemed to be essentially the same. The largest bass I've ever caught other than that was 16" and the rest would all be around 12" or under. A bass that large out of a kayak is quite a thrill. It tows the yak pretty good!
Lately, I've been targeting catfish on Cedar Creek. I caught 12 a week ago in a little over an hour, but they were all tiny (none over the 12" limit).
