Reminder... get together fishin.com

Just a reminder for everyone, our 2007 fishin.com get together is scheduled for Saturday May 12th at Barren River Lake, just like last year.

I am posting the reminder because I know tournament directors are busy making schedules, and last year, several said they would have scheduled around the get together had they known about it in advance.

That is what led us to set the date a couple of months ago. Yes, we did away with the vote and lake vote. That in and of itself saved us over 2 months... LMAO

Can't wait to see you all there!!

I will try to figure out where most of you are coming from to the Get Together and I will try to find a place that is more central for all. Barren or Nolin seem to be very CENTRAL lakes in the state, Green and Rough could be as well, depending on where guys are coming from.. However Barren is near 65 and the Blue Grass Parkway and that helps a ton.. PLUS Ranger Bob keeps his gasoline very cheap making gasoline at Barren MUCH cheaper..
I would also like to try having a BIG get together in Louisville on the River front some day. Maybe get some vendors to come, and have a BIG Cookout.
Who knows maybe if we get enough guys to come Matt Plapp will bring his BIG Truck / Store..

I was under the impression you set the date and place in advance to stop all the confusion over the voting, and now it seems you want to restart the voting?

I won't be at the get together but I am going to put my two cents in here anyhow. I have organized enough family reunions, office get togethers, neighborhood parties, etc. to know that you will never please everyone and THE BEST WAY TO GET THE DATE, TIME, AND PLACE IS FOR ONE PERSON (OR A VERY SMALL COMMITTEE)TO SELECT THE DATE, TIME AND PLACE, then tell everyone else what that is. Those that want to be there WILL BE THERE and those that want to complain, WILL COMPLAIN BUT WON'T BE THERE NO MATTER WHAT IS SELECTED.;(

Exactly right Grumpy. That was the discussion we had right after the last get together that had Jim pick the date and the place. I put it in my Outlook calendar that very day. I had to search my calendar to find my entry, so I could post this reminder.

Honestly, it seems Jim's post would indicate he doesn't want to stick by that original decision and reopen the discussion for the get together.

Therefore, it may be in my, and everyone else's, best interest for me to bow out of this thing right now. I don't want to stir up a hornet's nest for no reason.

Don't think it's acutally stirring it up. It wouldn't be a bad idea for Fishin.com to have two or three of these a year in different parts of the state. Not everyone can always go. But at least there'd be some different options at different times of the year for those folks.
You could have one in the Ky Lake/Barkley area and depending enough notice it could include Dave.
Have one in the original area spot as scheduled, then if there's a need for another one.

I'm all for a F-n-F get together this winter somewhere.

OK I have to quit trying to please everyone.. OK Barren River May 12, 2007 for the Annual Get Together.
I will consider doing more than one if guys will let me know where they think we have enough people to bother. Barren has had at most maybe 20 people the last couple of years and really that is not much of the board.
I know some of you have problems with other board members and with me, but guys.. lots of the people who showed up this year got along MUCH better once they met, so put aside your fear and lets get together for a great meal and for some fishing comradery.

Jim I like the river Louisville idea, and if Danny comes I could get him in a moderated, deleted headlock. I may have to get Billy to help me get a hold on him though, between the two of us I think we can take him LOL.
