Sounds like somebody didn't want calamari for dinner so they just tossed it in the river. It is hard to imagine how it got in there. Although there are freshwater jellyfish, but I've never heard of a an octopus in the River. I guess it gives us just one more thing to catch besides a bass over the 12 inches.

in the ohio the thing was probably at one time a catfish and just deformed all to heck lol

I read that some art student bought the octopus at the fish market, used it for his film, then tossed it in the river.

The guy who caught it was using a castnet - it wasn't caught on a chatterbait!!! Ha ha ha!!! :)
