KY lake report / hook ups

I finally got away and fished with my dad this past week end at night on KY and we had a pretty decent trip. Caught a lot of fish Friday night and Saturday night was good also but fewer fish. The only downside is we didn't tag any "good-uns" although we each landed a smally in the 3.5 - 4 # range. We caught most of our fish on tubes and several on spinners. I think the current picking up has helped the night bite.

Now for my question. We seem to have a lot of difficulty keeping fish on our hooks these days. I have been fishing tubes on either jig heads with 4/0 owner hooks or texas rigs with 3/0 or 4/0 Gamakatsu wide-bite offset style hooks. I use heavy or medium-heavy G.Loomis casting or spinning rods with 12 - 15 lb line. We hook up a lot of fish but lose them on the jump or swinging them into the boat. I know losing a few fish is normal but Friday we figured we lost more than we boated which seems a bit unusual. Has anyone else had this problem of losing too many fishing tubes?
