Lake Malone

lake malone is one of the better lakes in ky. 2 years ago i causght a 7.99 last year i caught an 8.86 and this year i cuaght a 9.4 and as far as 4 and 5 pounders go i cant even count them if you wanna do good on that lake you have to fish a little different than ever yone else.
for the people that hate it you proly go up there and fish the bank or at least hit it or fish the grass. yes that can be productive sometimes but try going deep and get off the bank. tyr fishing from 15 to 25 feet deep instead of banging the bank. My partner and i have came in the money almost every tournament up there in the past month and a half.. and just to let you know we are not catching 10-13 lbs. in 3 fish because the lake ####.

I agree. I just started fishing Malone this year. Haven't lived in the area long and wanted a close place to fish. When I first started it was tough to figure the lake out, not that I have figured it out now but have a better understanding. If you want to catch little fish then bang the bank, but for quality fish back off anf fish deeper. My partenr and I won the Tues. night tourney last night with a 6.29. I've seen some good fish weighed this year and know they are in there it just takes patience.

Chris Holtzclaw, I run a red and silver Norris Craft, but also fish the tourney out of a white Javelin Fish and Ski some nights. Do you fish the Tues. nighter at Malone??

fished alot of them last year fished 4 i think this year won two of them fished alot of the friday nighters in the past month and a half.

I didn't know there was a Fri. nighter. I assume it's a club deal and you have to be a member?? Is a 1 fish limit or more than that? Kind of hard to be more. What time?

and about the friday nighters ya you have to pay a like 12 dollars to join as a team ...it rediculous. but 40 dollar entry fee 3 fish limit..that is also wack.. finish in the top 12 at the end of the year and you get to fish a fish off ... gonna be good money in the fish off though.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably wait until nest year to join. There isn't much time left this year and I want to be able to have a shot at the top 12.
