Dave,
Check out the archived post on the ky river i believe it is on page two. I think the post was started by downtime? Maybe it will help. Good luck, Don

I have the day off tomorrow and am thinking about heading to the Kentucky river. However, I have never fished anything but Kentucky resovoirs. What would be the best place to launch? I've been looking at the ramps listed on the KDFW site, but prefer a little advice from the experts at fishin.com ;) I'm prepared for a decent drive as I live in southern Oldham county. I have a Lowe L160, towing with a Ranger, so it should be small and light enough for almost any ramp.
Also, if you have any suggestions on other locations I'm open to anything. Just getting a little tired of my regulars, Guist, Nolin, and Jericho.
TIA,
Dave

The best pool that I am aware of right now is the Red River pool which is between Richmond and Winchester on Boonesborough Rd. Most fish right now are on the main river suspended around laydowns and biting pretty good. I was there last week and caught 14 fish total, 6 were keepers. Two 17" largemouth, 1 15" smallie, and 3 more small keepers. All fish were caught on a jig. I dont know if it's worth that far of a drive though. Good luck.
above or below the dam at boonesbrough, where do you put in at?
