Anyone been up to Kincaid lately? Any reports?
I'm going there this weekend, would also like to hear some reports. If no one replies before then, I will post sunday night.
Thanks, 13. I'm trying to obtain some info for a co-worker. I look forward to seeing your report.
I went there this past Sunday. Threw a buzz bait most of the morning with no results. i like to throw a buzz bait so it wasted to much time on it.
They had two overnight small club tournaments so it was a little busy. Fished the main lake with a couple keepers on crank baits blue/white. Moved to the back end of the main creek and had 5 more keepers with one 6 lb, and a couple in 3 - 4 range.
It was cloudy with a couple small showers. Water was stained in the creek and it gets less presure.
It can be a great lake on some days and other days it is very hard to fish. Gets a lot of pressure on weekends, but if you have a 10 hp motor you can get away from most of it.
If our club was not at Elmer Davis this weekend I would join you and show so good spots. My buddy and I fish it most weekends when we do not have a tournament elsewhere. Try the bank across from the camping area first and the two small creeks there first.
Thanks for the reply NKYBass. I was going to try white or shad patterns before I saw your response. I use to do pretty good on a black and blue jig, but the last few times down there I didn't do so well for me. Did you catch your fish deep or shallow? If you are in the H&H bass club, it looks like you guys have a nice group. I have run across their web site before. Good luck in your tournament.
All were off the bank in 4 - 5 foot of water near wood. With the rain Sunday and Monday it should pick up.
Yes belong to H&H. Great club with a great bunch of men and women who love to fish. Will be on Kincaid Monday in an older Tracker if you are out there give a yell. Good luck to you and leave me a few.
Fished from 6 a.m. til 2 p.m. We caught 9 total with the biggest being only 1.5 pounds and of the 9 only 5 keepers. The other fish were between 11 and 12 inches. The other people we talked to were doing about the same but didn't catch as many fish except for two guys that went to the upper end. They caught more and in general were bigger.Wedidn'tgo that far with a trolling motor. All of our fish were caught on a white chatterbait, silver/blue crankbait and shad pattern spinnerbait. White spinnerbaits were producing well for the people we talked to.
Thanks for the report! I'll pass the info along. My guess is this cooler incoming weather will put the fish on a baitfish pattern pretty quick.
