Watch the CJ classifieds for manufacturing jobs if you're interested. My employer has been hiring one or two here and there for the last few months. Zeon is a pretty good job. Yeah, I work 7-day-swing-shift, but how many jobs are left in L-ville that pay more than $24/hr? Keep your eyes peeled and hopefully you'll find something soon. Good luck, I've been in that boat before and I know it is easy to get discouraged, but if you keep your eyes peeled, there are still a few good jobs to be had. Best wishes on your new career. CJ

I have been a contractor for LG&E locating underground utilities (BUD/ Before U Dig) for roughly 3 years. This is a good job but the people (CLS/ Central Locating Service)who run the company have just turned bad and are losing alot of good people.

UPS is hiring alot of people. I know we are in need of alot of forklift drivers, package handelers, as well as people with engineering experience. Go to www.upsjobs.com and fill out an application. We need people so bad in some positions we are shutteling folks in from out of town. Great benifits as well as good pay, depending on the position.

Thanks for the info, I just filled out the online info so now Im waiting for them to contact me. It was for the warehouse associate position at 2200 outerloop. That was the only one on there that said taking apps. Do you know any info about this location?

Yes, that is a branch of UPS known as "Supply Chain Solutions". The do a number of things out there, mostly warehousing. Alot of large companies have agreements with that allow us to store their product and ship it out as orders come in. There is also a laptop repair facility there (I dont remember for which company). The customer sends their laptop in to have it repaired, we fix it in the warehouse, and ship it back, often within 48 hours. Good place to work, very busy with a possible expansion down the road.

If you get an interview here are a few pieces of advice. (1) Wear a suit and tie if you can. (2) Arive atleast 15 min early. (3) Cary a folder with some documents (resume, work history, etc.) even if you dont use them it looks like you have you stuff togather. Sounds basic, but the folks in HR look for this kind of thing, and it will gain you a few points in the hiring process.

They sent me an application last night and I filled it out but when I clicked the appointment button it said no more interviews are available at this time try again at a later date. Do you think somemore will come available?
