Good one!:-) I quit doing the superstitions years ago now i just blame tough days on the moon phase, the high pressure, fishing pressure, hot weather, cold weather, lack of current, drought, flood, muddy water or being front ended.

After reading the post about superstitions, I know why I could never catch any fish before. I always thought it was because I was a poor fisherman, now I know it was because I didn’t have any superstitions.
I checked out all of the superstitions on that POST so that I could adopt them when I went fishing. Well, today was my lucky day, in spite of the fact that it was post-frontal, high pressure, and clear bluebird skies—I practiced the superstitions AND I CAUGHT FISH—LOTS OF FISH!!
First off, I was going by myself so I didn’t have anyone to do a “lucky handshake” with, so when I got up I thought I would shake my wife’s hand but she was asleep and had both hands under the sheet. Luckily she had one foot sticking out, so I shook her big toe.
After I got the boat, etc. ready, I took off my regular hat and wore the one that I got for being a KBF Observer a few years ago. I have never worn it since that miserable weekend of sitting in the back of a boat for two solid days and watching another fellow NOT CATCH BASS!! I figured I would get all of the luck he didn’t have—I was right!!
I usually take sliced ham sandwiches for lunch and I don’t have any regular “potted meat”, so last night I put the sliced ham in some red wine and I figured by this morning it would be “potted” but instead it just tasted bad.
Now mind you, I can’t stand Willie Nelson or the other lucky singers that were mentioned but I do have a Crystal Gayle CD in the van so I played her stuff all the way to the lake, especially: “I’m ready for the Times to get Better!”
When I got to the lake, I left the scale, the net, and the Golden Rule in the locker and never did take them out. I still managed to get all the fish I caught in the boat but you are just going to have to take my word for how big they were and how much they weighed because I didn’t measure or weigh them.
Anyhow, after I got to my “honey hole”, I did like the one fellow said about his first cast and I made my first one short and out into the lake but ****, I STILL CAUGHT A 17” FISH and he wouldn’t shake off. I lifted him into the boat and figured the rest of my day was ruined, but that was just the start of the best day I have had fishing in a long time.
I won’t go into a bunch of details because I don’t want to brag or make anyone jealous or anything, but I caught about 30 bass, anyplace from ten inches to a couple of four pounders.
So thanks to all you fellows for showing me why I wasn’t catching fish before, now all I have to do is get me some Tootsie Rolls and wash my hands and maybe next time I’ll have a really good day.

Glad all the info helped you grumpy, good to see someone is catching fish. I have not been able to catch any since my lucky hat disappeared. Just wondering though, did you try the breakdancing method Danny talked about after catching all those bass. LOL
As I said, I didn't expect to catch any with the "good" weather conditions but I did have a great day. Yeah, I fished with Danny last year and he taught me his "special on the deck break dance" and I did it after every catch. I think he called it ROFLMAO!! I forgot to mention that!
