    "Fluke" Clausen

I am man enough to admit when I am wrong and when I posted something just after the Classic stating Luke was "Fluke" Claussen I was obviously wrong. I took a pretty good beating from you guys and I deserved every bit of it. This man can FISH. I did not get to see the Ultimate Fishing Monday night but the old DVR was recording and I watched it last night. Luke handed old Jimmy Houston his behind on a platter. I never thought I would see 2 fishermen "Working Together" as Jimmy put it to try to both catch 9lbs so both would advance. It looked like Luke was the guide and Jimmy the client right down to giving him the plastic worm off his hook. I was waiting on Houston to ask Luke to show him how to tie a Palomar knot, set the hook for him and let him reel one in or something. Even with Luke putting 19 lbs in the boat and releasing no telling how many other fish, (on tape - no telling how many off tape), Jimmy could only manage 6 lbs. I am by no means close to as good as either of these but with Luke waxxing Jimmy and making Gerald Swindle cry like a big baby I stand corrected. It is no longer "Fluke" Clausen it is Mr. Luke Clausen, 2006 Bassmaster Classic Champion to me.

thought i was maybe the only one seeing Gerald cry..Talkabout a sore looser, true colors show when you get spanked sometimes i guess.I never understood why he was crying though,he had control of the boat same as luke,he didn't have to put on a skirt and use a spinning rod.
    thought it was kinda funny.

I still think he was a fluke and am not a big Clausen fan. I do like Gerald but don't care for the way he handled the situation on UMF. Beating Jimmy on Monday night didn't impress me.

He doesn't impress me either on the water or off.

I'll probably get slammed for this, but who cares.

    Hey Charlie...

You don't deserve to get slammed for your opinions. I used to really be a big Swindle fan, but his actions on TV, particularly with Zell Roland... I believe, in a bassmaster tournament really soured me on him. Then in his tournament with Luke, he really showed his backside, and even then much of it was edited out to protect G-man..LOL

However, I have to say, I thought Luke was a Fluke at first too. After all, when he won the Classic, it was released that he was fishing an area that "friends" had given him. But then, I started to consider that he had also won the FLWTC the year before, and that made $1,000,000 in two tournaments. Once... a fluke maybe, twice... that takes talent.

After watching him on UMF and handing it to the "G-Man"... well, now I am a Luke fan!!!

I think he had kind of an off year this year on the FLW... but still made their championship, didn't he? And if not... think about the demands there must have been on his time for winning both championships.. and them being back to back?

Kind of like IKE, I'm no fan, but the man impresses the heck out of me with his ability to catch fish. Not too impressed after he catches them, but he sure puts them in the boat.

I think what I've learned is to keep an open mind, and by doing so, I have learned more, and even changed my mind on many things.

Heck, and it hurts to type this, but I've even come to agree with Jim Dicken on some things.... UGHHHHHHHH!!!!!! LMAO

    Tight lines and God Bless

Luke has really presented himself as a class act. He took the crap from Ole "G man" while spankin his tail with the rod and reel and showed allot of class with Jimmy.

From what I have seen Clausen is a class act. I think overall the majority are but Swindle embarrased himself on camera. I don't think his sponsors would be proud.

    It stops at the scales.

Luke has done well, i like his laid back no smack talking ways. Swindle on the other hand has issues and needs to revise his fishing personality.

Once upon a time, we valued class. Now we value entertainment.

The only thing good about Swindle is he has a really good looking wife. ;)

Lukes no fluke---never was. He's a fishing machine. I saw him personally down at Old Hickory this past June fishing in the FLW Series. He came in second, but man the guy was all over the place trying to catch a good limit. He passed me at least 4-5 times running from spot to spot to spot just to try and upgrade his fish. One of "my" spots was his---which was pretty cool from my stand point. I was pre-fishing for another tourney and had just got done fishing one spot and he pulled up on it. He was as nice as any other fishermen out there. Class act and doesn't try to show it off with a big show---he just goes out and catches fish and proves he can do it without all of the smack!

He has also done well at almost all of the FLW Series tournaments this year. I think with time he will be one of "The Best"
