Fished Barren this weekend long and hard.
Lake wasnt busy, the only chop was from a wind rolling across the lake. Water was slightly stained, but for the most part clear. Water temps hovered around 85.
The oppressive heat of the weekend put lake temps back on the rebound, and the fish back down deep. Bass seemed lethargic, the short ones we did get were slow to the fight. Small rockbass hitting ferocisouly though on the banks. Larger fish seen on the depthfinder about 10 ft out, couldnt get any to hit.
One good catch from the weekend was a 5 pd channel cat caught bass fishing.
Sunday morning the stripers were in loose jumps, jumping sporadically about 30 ft off the bank in the pool around the dam. Couldnt get any to hit.
Are smallmouth making an impact at BRL? All but one of the bass we caught were brownbacks?!?
Anyways, tight lines....
