    Kentucky Afield

Did anyone by chance catch Kentucky Afield yesterday with the guy who caught the snapping turtles bare-handed by standing on them?? It was classic.

    RE: Kentucky Afield

Some of my family were frog gigging by wading a central Kentucky creek back in the 50's. My grandfather spotted a large turtle and said he was going take it home and clean him. During those days the only light we had were the carbide lights. My grandfather said he would cut the head off the turtle and put in down his coveralls until he could get it back to the truck. So that's what he did, in the dim light, he cut the turtles head off and stuck the turtle down his coverhauls. When he got back to the truck and took the turtle from his coveralls, he realized he had cut off the turtle's right foot.

I couldn't believe it either. That guy was crazy. Did you hear him say he lost his teeth to a chainsaw. I was on the ground laughing. Swimming through all of that moss grabbing turtles with his hands and the indian yell when he got one. Hilarious. I'd love to have a copy of that.

yea when he just randomly threw out the chainsaw quote I lost it. " I don't do drugs, smoke, cuss, or drink...I just do turtles." I have been practicing my yell so when I hook into a bass at the next tournament everyone will know who just caught one. I will give him credit, he has more cayones than I do for stepping on turtles. I wish I would have taped that.

The show is on Wednesdays, Saturday, and Sundays. You might get to catch it Wednesday night. I believe it is a rerun of the weekend show. It is aired on my local cable on WYMT Mountain television on Wednesdays at 7:00 P.M Comes out of hazard I believe.

You can call the KDFWR, I don't know their number but you can get of the internet...then just call them up and tell them you want a copy of the show that aired this past saturday night. They'll ask you for the date, your name, address and credit card number...I think it costs around 20 bucks or so plus shipping to buy a DVD of one of their past shows. I'm not sure where the money goes but I don't mind writing KDFWR or Kentucky Afield a check every now and then...
