I was needing to know if green river lake has a thermocline or not.
If it does can you tell me the depth it is now.
It must be different than Cumberland if it has one.

According to the information on the Corps of Engineers site, the thermocline at Green River lake starts at about 21 feet deep.
Go to the reports section, click on KY reports page, then click on the "Daily Lakes Reports" title on the left side of the page. If your lake is listed there, click on the title listed under "Projects" and that will bring you to the COE site for that lake. Click on the "Lakes Temperature" title and that will bring you to a page summarizing the water data. Then click on the "Click here to see Raw Data For This Lake/Reservoir" title and that will bring you to the water data listing Temps and O2 levels at different depths.
Here is the link for Green River Lake: http://www.lrl.usace.army.mil/wc/wq/grrtext.html
I usually look for the first drop of temps that is more than what is usual for the other depths temp decline, usually a few degrees, that coincides with an Oxygen level that is sufficient for the fish you are after. For Bass I use an O2 level of 4.0
That reading should only be used for a general reference, keep in mind that the COE takes there reading from one place, usually near the dam or other official structure on the lake. The thermocline, temps and O2 levels will vary on the lake based on many factors such as: underwater springs, creeks, depths, rain runoff, etc. Once your on the water use your sonar to get a better idea of the thermocline in the area your fishing, look for the level where the schools of baitfish suspending or you can increase the sensitivity to get an idea the level of the thermocline.
Also, some of the COE lake sites readings may not be accurate or consistent, if you follow a certain lake for a while and see a bi monthly or weekly reading that is a major deviation from the normal readings then the COE might have made a mistake in the readings.
