Best Night Lures

Lately, I have been sharing some thoughts on night fishing bcause I think there are some beginners who visit the board. I know I have learned a lot from you guys from time to time. If you read other boards, you will find Ky's board is way more educational than most. I think that says a lot about the guys who share their information. Night lures should vibrate and move lots of water. That is why most night fishermen use large jigs, grubs, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, worms and lizards. Ten inch grubs, worms and lizard are best, especially if they have ribs, blades and/or groves to vibrate and move water. Large wide wobble crankbaits like a black wiggle wart is good. If they have rattles it is an advantage also. Dark colors are best like black and blue unless you are fishing dock lights and then white and silver are good. If you are fishing rocky places with a C-Rig, the Lindy Rattin No-Snag sinker may help. You can also use liguid car was to polish your rod eyes for longer throwiing distance. You can also use tooth paste to polish blades and spoons. Good fishing everyone!

How long have you used that no snag sinker? Has it worked so well that you won't go back to an egg sinker? Just wondering since i have seen them but never tried one. Thanks, Don

i used them for a while but they will snag and are pricey if you lose many.I also noticed gettin bites that i couldn't catch but they had it running,only thing i figure was they were grabbin the sinker being it was pretty balck and yellow.i use regular bullet sinkers in what ever size i need,egg seemed good in light cover but i hang bad with them as compared to bullet. each has their own preference.
as far as best night lures,i have caught as many good fish on 4 inch tubes and 4 -6 in worms as big worms,until recently i never used a jig bigger than 5/16 or worm weight over 3/16,but i also never went bigger tthan 12 lb line,it is all in what you have confidence in.i have one alot of money and caught alot of fish like that so i believe in it.don't be afraid to try anything,if there is something you want to learn go fishing and leave everything else at home.

I only use the Lindy when I am having problems with certain rock formations. On Cumberland and Dale it seems the brass and lead weights do not hang up as much, but if you are in Herrington, rock formations on points are especally lead hungry. You can tell there is less resistance to drag with the Lindy, but a times, even the Lindy will get stuck. I will also agree it is whatever is working on any given night. Someone made the point once that there are three things you want to keep in mind if you are not catching fish and they are "the confidence bait flaw", "don't stay in one spot too long", and "losing concentration."

I agree Bonefish I use the lindy when I can't fish the egg or bullet but I don't like the feel of the lindy bag weight. Thanks for sharing your info and I will try the car polish trick.
