According to NADA your offer of 6000 to 6500 is closer to average retail...maybe even a little generous. If the boat has not been in the water for 4 years I am wondering what shape the motor is in...was it prepared for storage?

The man told me that the dealer did prepare it for storage he also said he would guarentee everything on it to work or he would have it fixed that sounds great but I wasnt born yesterday he also said I could take it out for the weekend and try it out
Take me with you?
OR can I use it for a weekend?
Jim
if he lets you can i go with you Jim? lol
Well, I bought a 1989 strat. 279 V with a 1992 Rude 150, that is emmaculate for 4700 and a good friend of mine just bought a 1990 285XL with a Rude 150 for less that I got mine for so I would say he is extremely high, that rig shouldnt book for more than about 4-4500K but the rule of thumb is take the NADA value then add about 1000 for market price, at least thats what I learned when boat shopping
If it's too high, don't buy! From my past experience, this is the time of year when boats start flooding into the local papers and you can score some great deals on "End of Year Closeouts." If you're questioning the price, more than likely it's too high or you won't be happy in the long run. Hold out for the deal that you know is right with no questions asked!
