    RE: GPS

they come as regions instead of single lakes. mine has the east region which is pretty much every major lake east of the mississippi. it was about $100 when i bought it i think it's cheaper now though. you just load back and forth from your PC to your gps.

    RE: GPS

The Garmin MapSource Fishing Hot Spot's CD comes with all the maps on it. However, you must purchase an UNLOCK CODE for each of the THREE REGIONS. EAST, CENTRAL and WEST regions. Each Region has most of the large lakes in several of the states that fall within that particular region. The EAST Region has IN, KY and you will find Patoka, Monroe, KY and Barkley Lake in that Region's lakes.

The cost is still a bit over $100 per REGION. That's cheaper that it was three years ago when I got my Hotspots CD. Back when I purchased my CD there were TEN Regions that had to be unlocked.
If you wanted to save money you could buy the total package Unlock code and unlock all the maps on the CD for about $300 bucks. So actually the price has not moved very much over the past 3 years. It still costs about $300 to get all the Lake available on the CD unlocked.

PS you can have the CD and unlock one region and still see the lakes that are contained in the other regions. But those other lakes won't have the contour lines shown. Only when you enter the UNLOCK code for that Particular CD's data will you be able to see the contour lines on those lakes in that region.
