It's going on right now at Guist Creek.
Talked to Don last night and the leaders yesterday had 7lbs and change with two fish. Don was in 5th with 4lbs and change and 3 fish.
He said that Steve Riley was standing in the raffle boat throwing out tackle to all the guys, so he was having fun trying to block out and rebound for Lucky Crafts! lol
Go Don...

Thanks guys,
We fished HARD for 2 days (my back hurts from slinging crankbaits). Man what an awesome job Steve Riley did on another Classic, top notch all the way! He had a ton of catfish fillets, cole slaw, potatoe salad, hush puppies and soft drinks and water waiting for us after the weigh in on the first day. Who wouldn't love that? The tackle grab was so much fun i felt like a kid standing by a parade as they throw out candy....The boat raffle was a hit as well.
We finished the classic in 3rd with 8.78lbs (5 fish) and 1st was 11.70lbs (8 fish). 2nd place team of Randy and Mike Downs had 8.93lbs.
We had a nice 3.96 kicker today which gave us the daily 2nd big bass pot but only a small 12" baby to go with it. Congrats to Bobby Anderson and Kevin Thomas they won our division and the classic plus had todays big fish with 4.18lbs, great job guys! This is a fun trail to fish with some terrific people i would recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a little competition on a little budget. Can't wait till next year. Don
Steve Riley is a real class act puts on the best Classic I have ever been to. Realy enjoyed myself there are some great people in the Pondhoppers. Cant wait until next year. Hope to see some of the guys on the water before next year. DJD is a great guy to and good fisherman as well.
good job don, glad to hear you did well, hope you caught them on a certain Jig, thanks Jeff
Bobby,
Thanks for the kind words i really appreciate it, you guys had a heck of a year. You know it's going to be a good final day of the classic when you can boat a 4lb'er in the first 15 minutes of the tourny! Congrats again to you both. See ya on the creek...
Jeff,
I was flinging my special jigs and some soft plastics during my prefishing time but i could not get on that bite to save my life. So i put the trolling motor on low and constant on and went crankin' and chatterbuggin'. It was a good choice almost worked out for us.
I have done well with the 3/8 oz version while fun fishing (figures huh) at a local lake by casting the points. That is a fine jig with a wicked hook! So far i have not seen one like it. Have some tournaments coming up on Cumberland and Green River that we might fish and you can bet those jigs will be used. I'll let you know how we do.
