I have been seeing alot of 20" Bass being removed, most of the guys that I have talked to are taking them home and putting them in there farm ponds. I too would like to see it go up too 22" or even 24". Heck those fish are breaking my arm and keeping my thumb bleeding already , would like to see what else they can make hurt!

lol, I have not seen any fish over 20"in taken out "legally" However I have seen some 16-17" fish taken out by people who claimed they were 20". And I definately do not think they are "too many" fish over 20 inches.

definetly raise the size limit! with the pressure that lake receives, taken out legally or illegal, i don't think it will be able to stand the pressure over time.i've heard of some people putting the knife to some of those 20" fish!:-(

    RE: cedar creek

How about we catch and release ALL LM BASS at Cedar Creek. That sounds like the best plan to me. Put the knife in a catfish, crappie or bluegill.

I fished CC twice this year and we caught 3 over 20" and lost one that was very likely over 20". DYNATRAK, that fish was over 20", right?... I fear the pressure will hurt CC soon enough. It's sad but true. I wish they would have been able to make that lake 3X larger.

How about seeing that big smallie coming out of CC!!! That's too cool. I think I would have nearly lost my rod and reel out of SHOCK to that fish when it first jumped!!!

over 20 was right, smljaw. look, the bottom line on cedar creek (as is with all bodies of fishable water) is that unless law enforcement sets a precedent by fully enforcing the laws on the book already, we're gonna always have this problem with people removing illegal fish. i've probably fished cedar creek a good 100 times since it has opened and i have only seen fish/wildlife officer out there once. that's not saying they're not doing their jobs, just that i haven't seen them. then again, i fish during the week, rarely on the weekends.

i say set a size limit, slot limit, whatever. BUT, HAMMER THE PEOPLE WHO BREAK THE LAW AND MAKE AN EXAMPLE OUT OF THEM.

    just my 2 cents.

smljaw, give me a call and let's hit a creek somewhere...

I don't even fish the lake and I'm a huge fan of your idea. I am for larger regs on keeper fish all over. Only people against these types of ideas are meathogs, or tourney guys afraid about weigh in weights. Bigger fish wouldn't hurt tournaments, everybody would still be on the same playing field, wouldn't they?? Just my 2 cents for what it's worth, which usually isn't much LOL. :+

    RE: cedar creek

I've been a fairly regular viewer and poster of fishin.com for a couple of years now...It seems to me like it hasn't been very long ago that people were on here complaining about the lack of quality and quantity of fish on Cedar Creek, then there was all the talk of the beach and so on and so forth...I have yet to fish this lake but I sure hate to hear about how much pressure it sounds like it's getting...

But anyway's, judging from the posts I've seen here recently regarding Cedar Creek it sounds like the over all size (and quantity) of the bass being caught are improving with the time, maybe the KDFWR has a pretty good handle on the situation? I don't know...when will we hear about any new regulations, does anyone know?

I see a couple of you guys have witnessed short fish being taken out of the lake...Tell you what, if I ever witness such a thing I'll sure as heck let the person know about it, it might not do any good but at least it might make them think about what they're doing anyway.

If you see someone taking illegal fish, call 1-800-25-ALERT. I keep it programmed in my cell phone.

I think the bass fishing is pretty good right now. I'm disappointed in all the rest of the fish. They seem to have really declined in the past two years.
