Rough River Drawdown...

Does anyone know if they begin the anual drawdown at Rough River Lake today. I had it marked in my outlook calander as beginning today and was wanting some confirmation.

According to information on the Rough River Corps of Engineer web site, for 2006 the normal schedule of slowly lowering the lake two feet between September 15th and October 15th will be the same for this year but they will lower the lake much more rapidly in the Fall of 2007 (they didn't say how rapidly). Anyhow, they normally lower the lake much faster starting October 16 until they get the lake down to winter pool (another 18 feet down). If I remember correctly they try to get to winter pool by November 15th.

I think they ORIGINALLY had intended to do the accellerated draw down starting September 11th 2006 but they have delayed that until September 11th, 2007. That may be where you got the Sept 11th start date.
