    RE: herrington lake?

Here is what little I know.
The lake is basically a canyon filled with water in most places.. at least what I have seen of it.
There are steep drops on most banks on the main lake.
Fishing is tough because cover is not very visible.. BUT the nice thing is that the lake has a good supply of Hybrids and they should be in the jumps by then.
Take plenty of surface baits and those Swim Jigs with tails on them may work good too fished fast then stopped to drop.
Crappie get VERY big in that lake. I fished a dock one time in the winter and saw several 2 pound class crappie. If you have a depth finder you should look for cover and fish with live bait. Guessing that you want to start in about 15 feet and work shallower.
That is the best advice I have. Bass fishing on that lake is something I have not done so you are on your own.

    RE: herrington lake?

Bass fishing has been slow on Herrington, watch for floating logs in lake it has alot of them.(as well as other stuff)Herrington is a very deep and narrow lake, can't run from 1 end to the other with out going thru several no wake zones, but when the fish are biting it is a good lake. Fishing the points is where I seem to have the best luck.:7

Deep-deep-deep. Not unusual to be on a bluff wall and be in 90-100 foot of water. But there are some good bass there. Working thew bluff walls, the key is to stay in tight and parralel the walls. Cranks, worms, jigs, spinners, whatever you throw, just vary the depth till you find a zone. Also hitting the cuts along the main lake where debris washes in and stacks up can give up some good bass fihing jigs.
    Luck to Ya!
