Wow, i really like the new board. It's much more stable and the overall look is better IMO. I think it will pick up as the cooler weather gets here and all the Classics are over. I bet it's still used more than any other board, don't you think?

I believe there are more users than ever. I do notice that on the weekends that there is not as many post (guess everyone is out fishing). With deer season here and all the nice weather everyone I believe is outdoors enjoying themselves and spend less time inside hacking on an old computer. I don't really see a difference in this board format and the old format except this one does not crash. Peter and everyone done a great job getting this site up and running. Before seems like it was down more than it was up. Just my opinion.
Are you kiddin me? This format is a ton better. The board doesn't go down anymore, which I'd say is a pretty good thing for starters. I know that I'm reading and posting a lot more than I used to.
As far as there being a lot of posts from sponsors, there's nothing anybody can do about that. If I were a paid sponsor on a forum, I'd be there and be as helpful to folks as I could be...that's guaranteed.
Colder weather will get more people on the posting bandwagon.

Not saying anything wrong with that I am just saying that those people will always be on here . I was just wondering where everyone else is
I think that the first post, the "cookies must be enabled" post may have scared some of them off. Those of us that are not computer savvy may not understand that cookies are not bad things if they are from a trusted site like this one.
I totally agree with MrSplitshot, the board is a ton better than before. Anyone that is not using it because of the "crap" is missing out on a lot of good information. If I can learn to post and use the "new stuff" then anyone should be able to.
I have looked at a couple of other forums, for fishing, hunting, etc. and it looks to me like Fishin.com is used much more than any of the others, so if usage really is down then it is still being used more than the others I looked at; however, I really don't think the usage is down that much, if at all, for this time of year.

God is forgotten, the soldier slighted."

I agree on the "Cookies" post. When I click on the forum that takes up the majority of my screen until I scroll down.
I just view it in linear mode, that way all topics and their replies are collapsed and the screen isn't cluttered. Looks more like your board that way, splitshot.

A whole lot better and the newer version coming out will be even better. Website posters go through cycles. Yeah, some of the cookie posts will detir a few folks who may surf at work.
Fine by me.

As a monitor, I hate to post, but will....
If the cookie post is a problem, I think it has been here long enough, and let's all send a request to Peter, maybe we can move it to the discussion board, or just unpin it.
I think there are a few less posters. Some of them posted some things against the rules, and when they got their posts deleted they got mad and quit posting, unless it suits their needs. That is certainly their perogative. We also have a lot of new posters here.
BTW, I have only found one board that is fishing related that has more new posts on a daily baisis, and it is a national board. Obviously, I won't mention it. However there is one board I visit that gets about one new post every two or three weeks!! talk about slow.
We also lost a lot of different posters when we began requiring registration. Possibly because folks could be held accountable, and the reason there are less different names is folks are using the same name instead of changing for each post. Even though it is still possible, if you are computer savy enough.
Tight lines and God Bless

The look and feel of the newer fishin.com site suits me fine. Just like everything it took a little bit of getting used to it, but I'm ok with it now. Although I agree with the person who started this thread in that it seems to me like there are fewer postings these days, although I'm not sure the newer format has anything to do with it.
I know of another board too that get's a decent amount of posting on a day-to-day basis but like Danny said, it's on a national level, every now and then someone will post something about a local lake but not very often. I like fishin.com better because it's mainly information regarding places or things that are close to me.
Good work in my opinion fishin.com guys, keep it up!
