    Toughest time of the year...

I know alot of you guys and gals are looking forward to the fall fishing right arround the corner. Sadly I am not one of these people. I can consistantly catch fish throughout the year but fall seems to stump me every year. What advise could you offer to help me boat a few bass in fall patterns? What type of structure do you fish and what kind of baits do you tend to throw?

    Keep on chuckin'

Best advise I can give you is keep your foot on the trolling motor and cover tons of water. One more tip, don't be afraid to throw that top water bait in the middle of the day. You will be suprised how many big fish will eat a top water during the middle of the day in the fall. i have never been one to go way back in creeks during the fall eaither. I have my best luck on the main lake and in little pockets during the fall. but that's just my opinion.

I agree with bassin101. I look forward to the fall every year. Any lake with shad will give you the opportunity to catch topwater fish which I think is a blast. Find fairly shallow water and look for schooling shad. It will be easy to see bass eating these shad. Another good thing is you can catch most species of bass from this pattern. My personal favorite bait. Lucky Craft sammy in chartreuse shad. It's a killer. Don't be afraid to throw big baits either because shad should be big by this time of year.

Hey Wildcat - Do you vary which size Sammy you are throwing or is there just one that you like to work with? Are you walking the dog with it only?

I don't throw that many different sizes. Usually the 100 and sometimes the 115 has brought in some big ones. Yeah I pretty much walk the dog only.
